The year 2016 has been quite eventful. It was filled with ups and downs, mostly demises of well known personalities and tragedies like terrorist attacks.There were events that shook the whole world as well. So here is a look back into the year 2016 before we step into a new year.
1. ICC WORLD CUP T20 (March 8, 2016 – April 3, 2016)
The world championship of Twenty20 will be the Sixth time begins from March 8, 2016 – April 3, 2016 in India. Where 16 cricket teams from all over the world will fight for the position of world champions.
2. BIHAR LIQUOR BAN ( 1 April 2016):
Bihar Becomes fourth dry state of India. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced that alcohol would be banned in the state from 1 April 2016.
3. UEFA EURO 2016 (June 10-July 10, 2016):
15th men's football championship tournament held in France from 10 June to 10 July 2016. Portugal won the tournament for the first time in the Euro Cup history.
4. BANGLADESH SIEGE, TWENTY KILLED AT HOLEY ARTISAN BAKERY IN DHAKA:
Twenty people, most of them foreigners, are killed during an attack by suspected Islamist militants on a cafe in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, 2 July 2016 restaurant popular with foreigners in the Bangladesh, that was attacked by gunmen in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
5. URI ATTACK: INDIAN SOLDIERS KILLED IN KASHMIR (09-18-2016):
Seventeen Jawans were killed in the worst attack on the Indian Army base camp by militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed in Uri, Kashmir on 18 September 2016.
6. INDIAN ARMY'S SURGICAL STRIKES:
First time in Indian history, India carried out surgical strikes against Terror camp based on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. In which approximately 30 to 50 terrorist had been died.
7. MODI GOVT DEMONETIES OLD Rs.500 AND Rs.1000 BANKNOTES:
Prime minister Narendra Modi declared that currency notes of Rs 500, RS 1,000 denominations will not be valid from midnight on November 8, 2016.
8. US PRESIDENT ELECTION RESULT – NOVEMBER 8:
Donald J Trump won the US Electoral with 304 votes as compare to his rival Hillary Clinton 227 votes. Trump is the 45 President of USA.
9. INDIAN TRAIN INDORE-PATNA EXPRESS DERAILS KILLED MORE THAN 140:
This is the sixth Grievous Indian Railway accident in 2016. Fourteen coaches of the Indore - Rajendra Nagar Express 19321 derailed at Pukhrayan in Kanpur. According to Reports at least 150 death and 260 injuries .
10. ISTANBUL EXPLOSIONON DECEMBER 10, 2016:38 KILLED,155 WOUNDED:
38 people killed and 155 was injured after bomb attack held on December 2016 Saturday night in Turkey. Kurdish militant group was claimed responsibility for this attack.
11. JAYALALITHA RIP :
Jayalalithaa ( 24 February 1948 - 5 December 2016) died on 5th December 2016 Monday night at Apollo Hospitals after suffering cardiac arrest. She was an Indian actress and politician.
